Mike Hanley Wagon Barn
The largest collection of wagons and buggies in the State of Idaho
Wheels of Time
Step into a world where history comes alive through the wheels of time. The Mike Hanley Wagon Barn showcases an extraordinary collection of horse-drawn vehicles that tell the story of our pioneering past. Each wagon, buggy, and stagecoach is a testament to the spirit of adventure and resilience that defined the early settlers of the ION Country (Idaho, Oregon & Nevada). Join us in celebrating this unique heritage and experience the journey of those who paved the way for future generations.
For the past 70 years, Mr. Mike Hanley of Jordan Valley, Oregon, has amassed over 40 wagons, buggies, and stagecoaches. In a heartwarming gesture, Mr. Hanley has donated his entire collection to the Owyhee County Museum. Now on display in a 9,000sqft. building graciously donated by R&M Steel is Mikes collection. You will see, an 1850s Oregon Trail Wagon, Borax Wagon, five different “Mud Wagons” (stagecoaches) and freight wagons. The largest collection of horse-drawn transportation in the State of Idaho is on display.
We thank all our sponsors and donors that made this project a reality. Showalter Construction, R&M Steel, Ten X Construction and JMF Construction, ASAP Electric have all stepped up to help construct the building. We also thank all our wonderful donors, without you this would still be a dream.
